Education and Environment Services, Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks

Bureau Director  

Responsible for the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Boating and Hunter Safety Programs and the Division of Ecological Services. State coordinator for Tennessee-Tombigbee Mitigation project whereby 3000,00 + acres were surveyed for suitable mitigation. Worked directly with the USCOE in “hacking” 46 bald eagles.  

1986 – 1989                              

Chief, Ecological Services  

Represented Department on Permit Board of Department of Environmental Quality.  Coordinated responses to proposed impacts upon all state natural resources.

1981 - 1986                               

Director, Turcotte Fisheries Research Laboratory  

Coordinated the state Freshwater fisheries research. Worked creel surveys, population studies and aerial surveys for management of state resources.  

1978-1981                 

Mississippi Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Museum of Natural Science

The Natural Heritage Program was continued as a state agency.

1977-1978                 

The Nature Conservancy, Jackson, Mississippi

Ecologist  

Worked on building data base of special areas, plants and animals for the Natural Heritage Program.
